China National Chemical New Material Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Chemical Group Corporation (ChemChina). It was approved the establishment by the former State Science and Technology Commission in September 1988, and was one of the five major companies affiliated with the former Ministry of the Chemical Industry. After the State Council's approval to set up ChemChina in May 2004, the corporation was allocated under direct management of ChemChina and became one of the professional subsidiaries of ChemChina.

China National Chemical New Material Corporation is currently engaged mainly in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), caustic soda, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and related products, research and development and production operations. In accordance with ChemChina's overall development strategy, the corporation takes chlor-alkali chemicals and PVC as major industries, and strives to build itself into an industry-leading enterprise with a certain production scale, strong profitability and sustainable development.
