Syngenta Group and food & beverage giant PepsiCo have announced an expanded partnership to drive the transition to regenerative and traceable agriculture across the food supply chain in a transparent and verifiable way.

In the first year of cooperation, Syngenta Group supplied PepsiCo with 4,000 tonnes of sunflower oil from Argentina, with all sunflowers grown using regenerative farming practices. In the next phase, the two sides plan to increase the planting area under regenerative farming by at least 25%, further advancing the implementation and promotion of regenerative farming practices. These sunflowers will be sold through Syngenta Group's Agriculture Value Chain (AVC) program, ensuring sustainable supply of raw materials for global markets.

Through Syngenta Group's sustainable sourcing program, farmers can use the Cropwise digital platform to monitor regenerative practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping, the use of biological inputs, efficient irrigation and developing habitats for pollinators. Syngenta Group also provides technical support for implementing these practices. Farmers who join the program receive an economic benefit by demonstrating the adoption of regenerative farming practices in their production process. The outcomes of these practices are certified by third-party entities, thus increasing transparency and traceability within the supply chain.
